Temperature Instrumentation for the Property Industry

Temperature Instrumentation for the Property Industry

In property development and maintenance industries, precision in environmental measurements is not just a necessity; it's a game changer. These instruments are the unsung heroes in the development and maintenance sectors, from ensuring structural integrity to maintaining optimal indoor conditions. In this blog, we’ll discuss our range of temperature instrumentation - thermometers, moisture meters, humidity meters and data logger to share how they are an indispensable part of the property industry's toolkit.

Thermometers

Thermometer Shop has a wide range of thermometers to suit the property industries. Our range of thermometers enables precise measurements in construction materials and HVAC systems. The correct temperature measurements are crucial for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and ventilation systems to ensure the systems function efficiently and safely and maintain health and safety in indoor environments.

For this, we recommend the Thermapen IR Infrared Thermometer. This device is a versatile tool for property maintenance, offering the ability to measure both surface and internal temperatures quickly and accurately. The thermometer has a target ratio of 5:1, so it should be positioned as close to the target as possible for accurate readings. Its emissivity is adjustable, and it can switch between measuring surface and internal temperatures, making it a flexible option for various property development and maintenance applications.

Humidity Meters

Humidity meters are designed to monitor the temperature and humidity, which is critical in maintaining the proper environmental conditions in buildings. Using a humidity meter regularly can ensure humidity is monitored to prevent any moisture-related damage to building structures and negative impact on human health. Humidity levels can affect the concentration of chemical pollutants, encourage harmful bacteria and virus growth, and impact CO2 levels and the overall comfort and well-being of people within the building.

For humidity measurement, we recommend either the ETI 6000 or 6100 Therma-Hygrometers. These instruments measure the temperature and humidity of the air in an environment. They also tell you the temperature, relative humidity, and dew point, with max/min functions for each, and they can be used with interchangeable wired probes.

Moisture Meters

Moisture meters are essential for detecting dampness in building materials, which is crucial in construction and renovation. If dampness is not found early, it can cause mould and bacteria growth and damage the structural integrity of the building and structures. Infrared thermometers allow for surface temperature measurements without direct contact, which is helpful in various industrial applications and buildings that are more complex to monitor.

We recommend the ETI 7250 Moisture & Damp Meter for Timber & Building Materials to measure dampness in buildings. This is used to test floors and walls within properties to measure the water content within. The meter works on a scale and will show red, orange, and green, which are relevant to the level of moisture in the structure.

Data Loggers

Data loggers are the perfect instrument for recording environmental conditions over time. Recording temperatures over periods regularly provides valuable data for maintaining stable conditions. This is important in areas like cupboards, warehouses, and garages, especially when they may be vacant, to identify changes in conditions over time.

Thermometer Shop recommends the ETI ThermaData Logger - LCD Model HTDF for professionals in property industries. This data logger has both humidity and temperature recording capabilities, perfect for identifying and maintaining optimal conditions to prevent mould and ensure ideal air quality. The instrument comes with plug-and-play USB connectivity and free software for continual analysis, which is suited to property and site managers needing to review conditions consistently.
